14th Annual Convention of ATOAI 2018 at Araku Valley

The annual convention of the Adventure Tour Operators Association of India is set to give the travel industry a great start to 2019. It’s going to be a gathering of the most significant and relevant adventure travel companies, tourism boards, Government officials, media and leaders – to discuss business and influence policy.

About The Convention

The 14th Annual Convention of ATOAI is being held in Araku Valley, Andhra Pradesh from 17th to 20th January 2019. ATOAI started the trend of going to emerging hot spots in the country to showcase its potential as an adventure tourism destination bringing in focus the newer and established adventure products and exposing it to the adventure travel fraternity at large and providing networking opportunities with the local stakeholders.

The idea is to bring small operators from far-flung areas of the state and connect them with adventure tourism experts, introducing a day of adventure activities to strengthen the fraternity,” said Capt. Swadesh Kumar- President ATOAI.

Keeping the tradition of holding the convention in an adventure destination every year, ATOAI has selected Araku Valley this year as a venue for its annual convention. Araku valley is a hill station with breath-taking landscapes, With Lush green forests and pleasant weather. It is located 115 km from Vizag airport.

Opportunities at the Convention:

The convention will offer structured opportunities for travel trade and tourism boards to a network for business development. These include networking sessions and a Buyer-Seller Expo where companies may take up table space to promote their products and services.

ATOAI is expecting over 250 participants including leading adventure tour operators, hotels, DMCs, State Tourism Boards, travel trade from Andhra Pradesh as well as neighbouring states in South India, officials from the Ministry of Tourism and bloggers, influencers, Travel Trade Media and other key media companies to interact and network during the convention days.

Delegates will also get an opportunity to go on pre or post-convention FAM tours hosted by Andhra Pradesh Tourism and state industry players. This will further enhance networking opportunities for business development.

The Adventure Tour Operators Association of India was founded in 1994 with a handful of members. Now it is a national body comprising more than 500 members from across the country and abroad, actively promoting adventure and eco-tourism in India. The association was founded with an aim to create awareness about the immense potential for adventure tourism in India and to harness this potential in a safe, sensitive and environment-friendly manner.
