Late March is the beginning of the spring thaw in the himalayas. After the last snowfall and rain of the end of winter, the landscape comes alive. The first sign of life is rhododendron trees blooming with their unmissable bright red flowers! The sweet fragrance of these flowers fills the mountainsides and attracts the birds and honeybees. The trails in our village abound with rhododendron trees and you literally feel like you are in heaven! Before the trek we teach you how the nectar is extracted from the rhododendron flower and made into juice and preserves. Along the trail, you will be plucking your own rhododendron flowers and making juice to carry back home with you!
