International Permaculture Conference & Convention

Aranya Agricultural Alternatives is very humbled to be chosen to host the 13th International Permaculture Conference & Convergence in Hyderabad, India in November 2017.
This event will guide and inspire more than 1200 participants from 100 countries and also give a significant impetus to the permaculture movement in India and around the world. Individuals, farmers, policy makers, researchers, academia sharing a strong interest in sustainable farming practices like permaculture, natural and ecological farming as well as in other kind of initiatives contributing to sustainable livelihood will come together to think, share, innovate, learn, and dialogue in a diverse and engaging programme.


This joyous and fruitful event is split into two parts:

Conference: November 25 – 26, 2017 @ Hyderabad, Telangana
The conference is open to all and will be packed with presentations, workshops, panel discussions and a lot of cultural exchange between people from all over the world with various backgrounds in permaculture and other sustainable living schools of thought.

Convergence: November 27 – December 2, 2017 @ Medak District, Telangana
The convergence represents a chance for candidates who have completed the Permaculture Designers Certificate Course and permaculture/sustainable living enthusiasts to connect deeply with each other and the theme of the event. The Convergence is a five day residential, experiential learning forum where the programme emerges from the contributions of participants. Networking, knowledge sharing, hands-on practices and celebrations will be at the heart of this event.

Be part of us and grab this unique opportunity to meet and connect with people passionate about permaculture and sustainable living in general. The IPC offers you a rare experience to gain access to the whole philosophy of permaculture, acquire new technical skills from experienced and renowned practitioners, showcase your work, learn and revive ancient Indian agricultural practices and bolster a positive global movement already underway.

The main theme of the event is “Towards Healthy Societies”. This is supported by 6 strands of activity:

Conserve The Forest Run

Announcing the second in Conserve Series and third event for Run4U. This time we are coming up with our next running event, Conserve The Forest Run, where the aim would be to spread the message for Reusing the resources in it’s best possible way and Recycling the wastes so that the cutting of trees can be Reduced and we can have a greener Mumbai. We are in talks with the NGOs to be a part of the event we have choosen and a portion of amount received from regestration will be contributed to the cause.

About the event, this one again will not be an expensive event like out previous events and categories this time would be 10km and 5km.

As earlier, we will give our runners an unique finisher medal and breakfast to all our participants. Our aim is to motivate people run for their health and fitness.

Location will be in Aarey and registration for 10k and 5k will start soon… stay tuned for more updates.

Full Moon – The Rann of Kutch

Day 1 – Pick up from Bhuj station, Check in to the Hotel – Leave for Mandvi sighseeing which is 2HRS from Bhuj. Explore the beautiful Vijay villas palace & seren beach at Mandvi. Drive back to Bhuj & stay overnight in BhuJ.

Day 2: Early morning drive from Bhuj to Rann of Kutch. Visit Kalo dongar, Indo Pak bridge then visit the White desert – Experience the beautiful moon rise along with sunset. – Drive back to Bhuj hotel & stay overnight at Bhuj hotel.

Day 3: Explore the heritage city Bhuj such as Aina Mahal, Prag Mahal & shopping at the artistic village Bhujodi. Drop at the station by 3 PM.

Basic Adventure Course 2017

We’ve designed this intense four-day training program to usher beginners into the art of adventure. Getting acclimatized to the mountains is both hard work and fun – two aspects that have are covered in this training program. Through activities like rappelling, rock climbing, jumaring, river crossing and Tyrolean traverse, basics of mountain navigation are covered in this course. The adventure course also includes knot and hitch practice, camp hygiene basics as well as shelter survival methods and other events for outdoor survival.We also cover First Aid, Snake awareness program, star gazing to make it really wild experience.

The adventure course focuses on transforming the participant into a state of complete independence. Ably supported by instructors and volunteers, the participant is inspired to make responsible choices both as an individual as well as a team member.

The idea is to introduce young, budding minds to the many challenges and rewards of trekking, climbing, mountaineering and team building exercises, so that they can evolve on the path of adventure if they wish to.

Bird Festival of Goa

The 2nd Bird Festival of Goa in the month of January , 2018. The main objective of Bird Festival to scale up bird awareness, bird watching activity and benefits through Bird cum Eco tourism in Goa’s hinterland . To provide a platform for well-known naturalists, experts, forest officers, bird photographers to share their insights & thoughts. This festival also focuses on putting bird conservation on the center-stage and raises the attention of nature enthusiasts and general public towards the significance of birds and the important role they play in the ecosystem. Festivals are a good way to meet fellow bird enthusiasts and learn more about birds. Bird festivals around the country celebrate birds as well as local wildlife. Festivals and events may include bird walks, workshops, talks about different bird species and conservation projects, and educational activities for all ages. This festival has activities appropriate for all levels of interest and ability.

The main venue for the 2nd Bird Festival of Goa , 2018 shall be Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary, Canacona Taluka of Goa , the Bird Festival will be an event to be held over a period of 3 days .
