In this meticulously curated 9-day trip you will get to see the most-popular sights, trek through quaint, off-beat locations and also indulge in some adventure activities.

Itinerary:

Day 1 – Reach Guwahati before noon. Drive to Shillong (3.5 hours). If time permits, stop at Umiam lake for an hour.

Day 2 – Sight-seeing – Mawphalang, Don Bosco museum and other places.

Day 3 – Drive to Langkawet. Check into hotel and after breakfast leave for Wahkadait. Reach by 10 am. Trek down to Shnongpdeng (about 3 hours).Lunch @ Shnongpdeng. Start at around 3 PM and drive down to Pomshutia. If time permits, spend an hour at Byrdaw waterfall. Else drive back to Langkawet directly.

Day 4 – Set off for Mawkyrnot at 7 am. Have breakfast on the way.

Explore the living roots bridges at Mawkyrnot (8.30 to 11 am) Drive down to Mawylnnong. Explore the place, have lunch. At about 2, drive down to Latang Riwan and trek from there to Shilliang Jashar (a few living root bridges on the way). Trek should take about 2.5 hours. Drive back to Langkawet.

Day 5 – Start at about 7 am. Stop for breakfast on the way. Reach Cherra at around 11. Sight-seeing at Sohra (Ka Bri Ki Synrang, Dianthlen and seven sisters waterfalls, Mawsmai cave etc). Those interested can do 3 – hour caving in the afternoon (1 to 4 pm).

Day 6 – Drive down to Tyrna and trek to Nongriat (about 3 hours) – descend down a seemingly endless staircase of 3500+ steps. In the afternoon, those interested can trek to Rainbow waterfalls and back (3 hours).

Day 7 – After breakfast, tough 3 to 4 hour steep climb to Nohkhalikai through a beautiful, diverse evergreen tropical rainforest. After lunch, drive to Mawlongbna. Stop at Mawjymbuin cave at Mawsynram on the way.

Day 8 – In the morning visit Iew Luri Lura, fossils area ( 3.5 hours). Return for lunch. In the afternoon, canyoning or kayaking in Umkhakhoi.

Day 9 – If time permits, visit Mawpdai and then return to Guwahati to catch an evening flight or train.

A diversity of 450 plus species is reported from this tiny state of India with 16 species endemic to the Western Ghats, which makes it one of the most exciting birding destinations. Situated in the Konkan region along the west coast of peninsular India, Bhagwan Mahavir WLS is a 240 sq km of protected area within Western Ghats along the eastern border of Goa and is home to 15 species of Western Ghat endemic birds. It also has about 33 mammal species. Bondla WLS is another beautiful wildlife sanctuary, located about twenty minutes drive from the camp site. This sanctuary is also considered to be one of the best birding destinations in India. December to February is perfect season for Birding in GOA. This DCP Birding Tripwill give you sightings of about 120- 140 species of birds within three days with ample amount of photography opportunities. The Nilgiris Ultra 2017

The Ooty Nilgiris run takes place in the misty “Queen of the Hills”, Ooty, the jewel of southern India. The 70km course terrain includes dirt tracks, mountain roads, steep up and down hills, forest roads, mountain valleys and tea estates. Competitors start from the misty heights of the “Queen of Hills” Ooty, to cover the distances between Ooty and its sister town “Upper Bhavani”. The run starting from the heart of Ooty town rises up to dizzy heights and then follows one of the best laid mountain roads in the country, skirting patches of dense shola forests, lush green tea estates, quaint hamlets and stunning views of the Karnataka plains on one side and the Avilanchi valley on the other. The course all along rising and descending gradually except for the final 6 kms, along the hills slopes all the way to end back in Ooty town.

The Toughest Trail Running
Description: 

BMF was a single-day challenge, including a trail run, cross country cycling and downhill cycling,that celebrated the country’s runners and cyclists in one event. “Three popular sports on a single day and at a single location. It was a never-seen before event organised in India,” – Redbull.com

The entire off-road track has been built by hand over two months. Our aim has been to create tracks of European standards, and let Indian runners/cyclists practice on it so that they can excel in international competitions.

The competition is open in three categories – trail run (10 km), trial run half marathon (21 Km)  cross country MTB (30 km) and downhill MTB (1 km). They have been further divided into Open Men, Open Women, Under-18 and Masters (45 years and above) championships. There are prizes worth Rs 5 lakh to take away.

This will be the most toughest trial running track in India with climbs across four hills which are totally rocky and stair climbs too. Train hard have fun on the race day with picturesque view and tons of fresh air to feel rejuvenated.

An amateur can gain tons of experience and pro’s can challenge their limits across the three formats , block your calender and register for the race.
