Dayara Bugyal Trek

Dayara Bugyal Trek

Amongst all the treks in Uttarakhand, Dayara Bugyal is considered to be the most breathtaking. The trek brings us to a highland meadow  situated in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand which stands tall at an elevation of 10,000-12,500ft.

This lush green expanse of meadows serves as an excellent destination for skiing during winter and is spread over 28 sq km. This breathtaking location is nestled amidst towering snow-peaked mountains. While on this memorable Himalayan Dayara Bugyal trekking tour in India at Uttarkhand, catch sight of the lake of Barnala Tal strewn across the green alpine prairies– in whose reflection the peaks look even more beautiful.

The trek starts from the tiny hamlet of Barsu nestled on the Haridwar-Gangothri road which is 32 kms from Uttarkashi. One can settle in any one of the rest-houses or GMVN houses in Barsu that overlook the stunning valley on one side and the snowy mountains on the other.

The route of the Dayara Bugyal Trek trails through gorgeous Oak forests, clear water bodies and sprawling grasslands while offering views of specks of huts, grazing sheep all while overlooking the valley and high-rise mountains. Wild flowers also bloom around streams and brooks that run across the pastures.

Temperature: -4 degrees (Min), 25 degrees (Max), days are relatively warmer

Trekking Distance:  29 kms

Maximum Altitude: 12,000 ft

Bhagirathi & Meru (Kirti) Glacier Trek

Bhagirathi & Meru (Kirti) Glacier Trek

The trek starts from the 18th century temple of Gangotri and goes beyond the source of Ganga to the meadow of Tapovan, favorite spot for sadhus meditating in the Himalayas. Gaumukh, the snout of the glacier, Tapovan and the mighty peaks of the Garhwal Himalayas definitely make it a special trek. From passing orchards of coniferous pine trees at Chirbasa and birch at Bhojbasa, and the retreating glacier at Gaumukh, the source of the Bhagirathi ; a plethora of sights and experiences in the shadow of Himalayan giants – the Bhagirathi massif and the beautiful Shivling peaks. We will also will be at a touching distance of Mt. Meru, one of the toughest peaks to climb in the world. With only a very recent successful attempt of the Shark’s Fin route by Jimmy Chin, Conrad Anker & Renan Ozturk. This beautiful peak was once mythologized to be the centre of the universe according to the old Indian Schools of thought.

Nanda Devi East Base Camp – Brij Ganga Pass Trek

Nanda Devi East Base Camp - Brij Ganga Pass Trek

Right up in the northern most frontiers of the Kumaon Himalayas, the Johar Valley remains till today one of the less frequented but well coveted destinations for the true lovers of the Himalayas. Nanda Devi needs no introduction. Ever since the closure of the sanctuary, knowledge about this cross section of the Himalayas continues to be the preserve of books and periodicals only. But lately with relaxation of the inner line permit it has now become possible to walk upto the Nanda Devi base camp through the Johar Valley from Munsiyari.

Everest Base Camp & Kala Pathhar Trek

Everest Base Camp & Kala Pathhar Trek

One of the world’s classic trek. The ethereal views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Pumori, Mt. Ama Dablam. A walk to the Mecca of mountaineering.

Mt. Everest! The mountain that has captivated the imagination of our race, sacred to both Hindus as well as Buddhists, this mountain now has acquired modern lore of its own, of heroic feats and tragic episodes. Walk with “Countryside” the route to the base camp of Mt. Everest, the world’s highest mountain at 8848m/29,030 ft. straddling the border of Nepal and Tibet. This mountain stands its solid and squat shape beside its neighbors Mt. Lhotse and Mt. Nuptse. This route is the most famous of all trekking routes in the world, and goes through some of the most stupendous landscapes anywhere. This is a region where superlatives start failing to describe that magic of a phenomenon that draws people of all kinds. We arrive into the exotic city of Kathmandu, capital of the Himalayan kingdom of Nepal and next day – fly to Lukla, from where we begin our trek. This route through the Khumbu region goes up the Valley of Dudh Kosi River, through forests of rhododendron and pine, passing quaint Sherpa villages and remote Buddhist monasteries. En-route, we get spectacular views of Mounts Ama Dablam, Nuptse, Lhotse and Everest itself. Our route will directly take us to Kala Patthar and the Base Camp, from where we would get grand views of the Khumbu glacier and the Western cwm. Here’s a chance to have the experience of a lifetime…
