Fitness is more than that 1 hour at the gym. What is it then, you might ask? Sweety Gupta, a Certified Pilates instructor and fitness entrepreneur throws light on this question. Through her brand FITISM and Pop Pilates, the trendiest workout in town, she shares tips on living a fit lifestyle.
“I want you to imagine a FIT lifestyle where you are doing calf raises while brushing your teeth, preparing meals ahead of time like strawberry chocolate overnight oats, doing prayer pulse while waiting at the red light, doing classic Pilates hundred before you hit the bed or throwing your legs up in the air to relieve that stress. I can vouch that fitness is more fun and effective when it’s done in short bursts throughout the day.” – Sweety Gupta, Certified Pop Pilates Instructor
Sweety completed her M.S. in Biomedical Engineering from City College New York. After having a settled life working as a SAS Engineer for three years in the tristate area, she decided to move back to India, start her journey afresh as a fitness entrepreneur. She met a lot of like-minded people interested in getting fit. At that time, fitness meant fitting into a dress for a wedding season or loosing weight for that fresher’s party.” After becoming 25kgs lighter over 4 years, her perspective towards fitness changed completely. She says, “I realised that being fit is not a destination, but more of a lifestyle to adapt for life.”
Practicing Pop Pilates – gave her the confidence to live a fit lifestyle and now as a certified fitness instructor, her group classes for Pop Pilates have all the right ingredients, tried and tested for a fun and energy-packed workout. Boring workout routines like gym on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays followed by cardio on Tuesdays and Thursdays – don’t really last long. To add some sparkle to your workout regime, try Pop Pilates – a whole new workout style.
Developed by American fitness entrepreneur Cassey Ho from Blogilates, Pop Pilates is an equipment-free workout that sculpts a rock solid core and gives you a lean dancer’s body. The right mix of workouts, health foods and comfort foods – a good balance that works for your body and not a one size fits all approach – that’s what I incorporate for my clients. Food is such a vital component of getting fit and for her 20 % YOLO meals (#You Only Live Once) and 80% clean eating and staying active works like magic.
“I consider fitness as my religion and I want to inspire you, motivate you and push you to get on this journey with me. You have a choice of living with either Excuses or with Results.” With those power packed words, we can’t wait to be a part of her launch class this weekend!
Sweety Gupta is a Certified Pop Pilates instructor and founder of Fitism. The launch class for Pop Pilates takes place this Saturday 27th February at Tangerine Arts Studio. The group workout will have a blend of Pilates on the mat in tune to the Top 40 Hits of the season. During the class you will flow from one exercise to the next targeting all the muscles in your body and if you follow the routine it will result in a strong core. PS: Whatsoever be your fitness level, newbie to freak, to expecting mommies to senior adults – Pop Pilates is for every one and for every body type.
